Vicki Finkel is a dedicated and creative ceramic artist,
teacher and psychotherapist
based in New York City, and is thrilled to have
discovered her passion for working with clay.
Whether forming pieces on the potter's wheel or constructing by hand, she is continually in awe at the ability to shape one of the earth's most abundant renewable resources into lasting pieces that make eyes light up, and faces glow in delight. She loves to play with color and form to create unique, often whimsical, functional art, to be used and cherished.
As a teacher, she loves sharing her passion for clay, and also learning from others, including at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Colorado, U.S.A., where she was a Presidential Scholarship recipient. An exhibited artist, Vicki participated in the Karuizawa Taliesin Craft Market in Japan, where she was in residence with a Japanese master potter, and was thrilled to study with renown potters in Korea, as well as ceramic artists in Vietnam, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, India and Indonesia, giving demonstrations and teaching around the world. Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including the recent, A Taste of Home, juried by Julia Galloway, in Port Chester NY, and The Teapot Show in Providence, R.I. When she's not busy with clay, she is often on her bicycle, or on the tennis court, or capturing images with her camera.
